Feeding America is a non-profit focused on ending hunger.  Their work is done primarily through their 200-member food banks, which feed more than 46 million people every year. Yet hunger persists, and most people have no idea that 1 in 8 Americans struggle with it every day.
The reason? They don’t fit the usual stereotypes of hunger: 64% own a home, 50% of them are Caucasian, and 66% are employed.
Feeding America wanted increase awareness of the problem by challenging people’s preconceived notions of what hunger actually looks like.
